I wonder if there is not some space between entire subjectivity and the absolute and whether the failure to recognise this is not indeed a common fallacy?

all that matters is that there is no absolute. After that, it's varying degrees of subjectivity. Call it intersubjectivity, call it consensus, whatever. But there's no absolute.
