i can't believe you're not going to watch this. a black man is debating an old white man to be president of the US. this is historic. i would think you'd be first in line :p

The fact that a black man is one of the two left standing in the battle for the white house is historic, and I appreciate that fact. But the day to day, to-ing and fro-ing: I'll play PS3 or read instead, thanks.:)

Btw, I'd like to see Obama win, for the historic-ness of it all. I'd like to live to see a black president. But on the personal level, I think McCain would be a better president. If I were american, the nomination of Palin as VP would prevent me from voting for him, though.

I thought I was very good for sitting thru Bush's address to the nation.

As for the debate, I really couldn't care less about their debates. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna watch our politicians debate - possibly in both languages, not sure yet. I'm only gonna watch it coz they are letting the Green Party debate and I wanna see how Elizabeth May does.

Like JC, I think that having a black prez next door would be cool. We have never had a black prime minister, can't even remember anything but white running for the job. We already did the woman prime minister thing and am truly greatful she didn't hold the position for long.

Hey! We got a black head of state!:)

I don't think I'll be watching our debates either, because it would mean watching and listening to Stephane Dion for more than thirty seconds.

p.s. I won't be voting Conservative, though. I'm frightened by the thought of Stephen Harper with a majority government.

According to this page on the BBC website "you can follow a live text and video commentary of the first presidential debate from 0100 GMT on the BBC News website."

Dunno what "video commentary is but like Detroit City says I'd imagine BBC News 24 is covering it live.

Cheers. Gonna be a little hard to live blog something I can't watch! Heh, I'm having a look round the CNN site as a contingency in case the BBC goes arse upwards on me...

oh no.

Because my friend is going to be 1 and 1/2 hours late, I may be reduced to watching part of it on my own. And, of course, if he'd been on time, we'd be finishing dinner around the start of the debates.

:hmm:

i think i have to go for a walk as i'm starting to hyper-ventilate :D

i really am gonna blog the highlights, so im getting my fingers in shape with secret exercise :p...
