I think it is only right we pay him the same respects we paid GWBush

Barack has made it perfectly clear that he intends to extend indefinitely the immoral and illegal war in Afghanistan, with all troop withdrawls made in Iraq to be reassigned slaughter duties across the way in Afghanistan... plus he is already playing the familiar macho posturing game of threatening Iran.

Lets see if the lightweight STWC will organise the necessary reception for the warmonger in waiting... yeah right! The STWC never really gave a fuck about Afghanistan, as it was too complex a position to hold in front of potential SWP voters ! (or whatever other twisted reasoning they may have)

...High time for an autonomous direct action genuinely antiwar movement to arise, and this planned pitstop from Barack would be a great time to road test one, even if modest in size, as its guaranteed STWC will be too busy going over plans as to how best to walk in a circle between Hyde Park, Parliament and Trafalgar Square etc. Fuck it...Ill be out there, even if its just me and my dog.

Too funny.:D The guy is a senator from Michigan, he isn't the prez yet, but you're going to have a protest, to protest the things that he might do.

Can you spell 'kneejerk'?:)

Isn't Obama the guy who thought it would be a clever idea to send troops into Pakistan and wants to up the ante on Iran? Isn't Obama the guy currently sucking up to the Zionist lobby?

Don't be deceived, sometimes it's the doves who are the most hawkish.

Before, Bush was the world's worst president.

Now you're setting someone, anyone up, to wear the same moniker, no matter what.

Have you ever considered actually thinking about things? Ps. does your puppethole in the back have a zipper to keep dirt out when it isn't being used?

For those that think that a protest against OB --could-- be rascist ---

Why not protest against Hilary when Obama comes over? I dunno, chants like "Fuck you, Hillary!" and "Hillary go home".

There isn't much chance that Obama won't be a shit President. Just like there's never really been an 'unshit' President. Or Prime Minister. Or leader of a liberal-democracy.

But we have to recognise that's the position we're coming from, and as far as the gen. public is concerned, protesting someone who hasn't even been inaugrated President yet is just a lil' bit too much.

'Shit president' is a relative term.

I seriously doubt that Obama will follow through on his pledge to end the criminal war and occupation against Iraq. John Pilger has done a good job of nailing the bastard:

On the war in Iraq, Obama the dove and McCain the hawk are almost united. McCain now says he wants US troops to leave in five years (instead of "100 years", his earlier option). Obama has now "reserved the right" to change his pledge to get troops out next year. "I will listen to our commanders on the ground," he now says, echoing Bush. His adviser on Iraq, Colin Kahl, says the US should maintain up to 80,000 troops in Iraq until 2010. Like McCain, Obama has voted repeatedly in the Senate to support Bush's demands for funding of the occupation of Iraq; and he has called for more troops to be sent to Afghanistan. His senior advisers embrace McCain's proposal for an aggressive "league of democracies", led by the United States, to circumvent the United Nations.

This is Vietnam all over again - the democrats pretending to be in opposition to an unpopular war to get into power only to perpetuate it under dubious pretenses because they're real commitment is to American power and corporate interests. Fuck em and fuck Obama too. ska invita - I'd love to see a protest against Obama but I don't think it'll be one that's likely to garner much public support.

Is it now de rigeur to refer to the war always as the 'criminal war'?

When you sleep, do you dream in slogans?:)

Stupid fucking piece of shit. I hate you so much its unreal. You are a cunt beyond compare. I wish pain and misery on you and descendents for the next thousand years. Desist from engaging with me ever again you simplistic, disgusting utter fucking cretin.

In case you missed that - fuck off.

"Criminal war. Criminal war. Criminal war...."

Dude, I'm not engaging you, I'm mocking you.

I suppose we have to give him the benefit of the doubt .it is wrong to interfere with another sovereign country's politics but if he becomes president he will be a big player on the world stage.something that is a big responsibility

Someone who is backed by News Intrenational/Murdoch, backed by Big Business & a supporter corporate capitalism & neo liberalism.

Can't see any problem with protesting against that?
If he is opposed to the Occupation of Iraq then having STWC demonstration would put pressure on him to push through policies to this nature.

Or just because he is black, does your liberal lefty politically correct temperemet stop you from criticising or demonstrating against him.

Out of curiosity whats Shit Wind & Pisses position on Nader. Seem to be very quiet about it.

Why on earth would it be racist?, i am not sure about the merits of protesting against Obama, (though in my perfect world we would have objected to Bill Clinton slashing benefits for the poor and disabled, but the SWP have never cared about that,) bit if people did surely it would be on the issues that OH stood for, not his colour, etc, ridiculous

this will be seen as racist if it happens (which it certainly wont)

Obama tacks right, and will reject public money in favour of his private supporters(investors)

n its images and in its words, the 60-second commercial that opens Obama's general election campaign seeks to introduce the first-term Illinois senator to voters. It also positions him more toward the center of the electorate by emphasizing universal issues of family and values while addressing some of his political vulnerabilities.

I dont know about this one.obama may turn out to be one of the good guys

That's the thing with you swappies you just hate the thought of giving people a choice. Yes liberal democracy is about consensus, you cannot please all the people all the time & as it has been said its the least worst method, after all the others. Well please continue to dream of your one party dictatorship of the proletariat it will never happen, the working class think you are more of a joke than the middle class, where, lets be honest you get 90% of your support from.

Regarding Obama, good luck to him, hope he wins & think he may have a chance. Or is it just because he is American..??

Its revealing how they think(US Prez's and now NL) think bringing in welfare to work and cutting benefits is progressive and decent, only in countries where there is no strong left can they trumpet such a thing as a positive move, in other countries they may bring it in, but would certainly be more reticent about it.

btw, that ad is aimed at the WWC in the US to shore up his support amongst them,
