Oasis: cra/not

fwiw: nah tbh i was a second wave oasis "fan". i didn't listen to much music for ages cos i knew i wouldn't get it like my older dj brother would. too competetive.

I was living in a small town, was about 22 and Oasis fucking rocked imo...

Who competed? Blur? Fucking wankers.

It inspired a fuckton of townies to something different lol... .

one of the most inventive, original, varied, intelligent bands of the last 20 years. Blur evolved, progressed, moved on (not ALWAYS successfully).

Oasis have been making the same record for nearly 20 years

I swear I never saw them in Whitley Bay Icerink in 1993 for about a fiver :o

(sold the stub on usenet a few years ago for £50?!)

To me they were a bunch of fucking stuck up fucking ponces back in 94

i made peace with my past, when i found a myspace page of an old friend and it's songs are oasis songs. on the page the guy in question keeps going on about how he's a legend. and you know what: he is!

stupid uncomfortable years of academic success :D

How do academic success and Oasis mix???? ;)
badly.

i think they must just be amazing tho, honestly. i can't think of a gig or nething that is as important. it just sums up my life at the time. looking back.

i'm a bit thick and not a doctor and i'm going to die here with that guy who i hadn't particularly liked for 4 years as a rival. and he's a policeman now :(

cunt. maybe they are shit  :(

You've lost me.
you've lost me tbh. i'm saying that only a hippy, in the real sense of the word, would not choose what music they like by what others say about it, especially cool people. when one is young, anyway.

Definately Maybe was a brilliant albulm. Had a few good songs in other albulms after that.

I like Oasis, can't say I hold them in that high a regard but they're definately the sort of band that you can sing along to their songs when pissed in the pub or otherwise.

Don't see why anyone has to diss them that much, I mean could you write a Live Forever or Wonderwall? Doubt it.

That's why you like them! I loved the Doors when Oasis were doing their rounds, I still do in a sentimental way, but I don't kid myself for a moment that they were any good :)

not sure i understand mate

anyone who makes their own choices about what music is good is a freethinker.

It follows 100% definetly that anyone who makes their own choices about what is good music, is a hippy.

I do like to think i'm a bit of a hippy now tbh. But in all fairness i do still listen to others. I think that's only fair.

First album was good, second was average, everything they've done since has been shite.

I saw them live once too, and they were really good. Me and my mates had a good old sing along. Liam and Noel slagged each other off. It was fun.

But if there was a poll, I'd say crap. mainly because of all the sad Oasis wannabees who populate my town.

absolute vermin. set back guitar music by decades. one of the worst bands of all time - a disgusting plodding blend of shit like the Beatles, T-Rex and Quo.

Cunts

word for fucking word. and not just that, but the absolute worst of those bands mentioned.
