I think the problem most people have with this is that if you don't share the particular kink, it's completely incomprehensible.
I mean, you can understand things like violence or theft without being violent or a thief. You can understand how a drug can make you lose control of your rational facilities to the point where you would be violent, or steal something, or otherwise act in a way that you would not have done, had you been sober. But you can't conceive of a drug that would make you think that this particular scenario was just the right thing for the moment.

I remember seeing him at Portsmouth Uni as part of that same 'tour' (presumably) in 2007.

I had the displeasure of being around Oakenfold when he started the perfecto label. Absolute weapon and full of himself. He was the same wanker back then as is he is now, the bugle didn't help with the over inflated ego. Great dj- horrible human.

Can understand someone in his position having a bit of an ego cause he was the main draw but this went beyond narcissism and blowing your own trumpet. He spoke down to people, was very dismissive and disparraging of other lessar known DJ's like myself. Look at me you're shit and a nobody was his ways. He wasn't so good on the decks when he was trollied but only a few of us had the bollox to tell him. Tantrum and strop incoming

I've heard lots of good Oakenfold mixes. Also, perfecto released some seminal tunes. He also basically, with others, started Acid House at Spectrum. Hugely influential and a legend IMO.

He's acutally a superb DJ his mixing and timing is impeccable. In my opinion he's a shit selector mixing shit music. I have an old cd of his when we played drum and bass in Oslo. Have to admit it was superb and so was his selection. He went commercial beacuse he knew where the money and limelight was. Music for the sniffed up masses! He's walked the walk, the dodgy little fuck nugget.
