About the original topic - seems to be a general trend to remove the courts from of the justice system.

How do you know they're treating him unacceptably? He still gets an occasional mention in our local paper (Fenland Citizen - not available in Cornwall btw), most recently as he's been sleeping in his car, but there was no mention whatsoever of any contact with the police.
