sorry toby is that a veild threat there...

your a big man but you're an old bastard tobes now sit down before you do yourself and injury eh?

Nothing veiled about it, try to fit me up with something I am not guilty of, or not involved in and there are consequences.
I am owed a lot of favours which I don't very often call in.
(The consequences are nothing so mundane as physical violence, there are hundreds of official and legal ways of making peoples live a misery if they try and have a go at me).

I don't fit people up, if they are stupid enough to be blatant, boastful and antisocial with lawbreaking, I make bloody sure I have evidence before making an official complaint.

graffitti is urban terrorism .. what i mean by that is that it terrorises ordinary decent hard working stock brokers and barristers like my wife it's bolder terrorism, it's new terrorism ... tough on urban dispondancy expresenting itself via free expression and tough on the causes of urban dispondancy expresenting itself via free expression .... in a decent, democratic, responsible country it is unreasonable to assume freedom equates to free expression... i should know...

Tony Blair argued today for 'instant justice' according to the beeb. He argued that if a copper sees someone throwing a brick through a window they should be given an instant fine instead of arrest and court, etc!!What about a home owner who uses his house for drug use? Will he be evicted for the same anti-social behavior as the tennant? I mean, most of the Mr Bigs in the drug industry live in big houses don't they?.

He'd never do it. If he did, he'd be tossing out the last thousand years of development in the law.

If a politician here said something that asinine, he'd be laughed out of Parliament.

precisely because they wouldn't allow it in canada... the prolbem here at the moment is they very well may allow this through althoguh again i think it's all smoke and mirrors to push through a slight less harsh law which essentially has much of the same limting factors as the one suggested... the old annouce a dracionian rule then rescind it in favour of the rule you wanted to bring in tactic...

in your case it seems to be not acutally managing to think past your net curtains...

At least I don't live in a crime ridden, drug ridden, graffitti blighted shithole.

In fairness though, it has provided an odd and uniquely twisted worldview for us to be constantly astonished by.

Somehow I don't think it is my weltanschauungen that is twisted.

It might be a tad more difficult to do than you think. I am prepared to kill to defend my home.
 You know what will happen if you do that don't you? You will land up in jail among lots of low-life drug takers.

No I won't end up in jail. Since the Tony Martin case my neighbours would help me dispose of the body. (It is a waste of time calling the plod here in the case of intruders, they take somewhere between two and 24 hours to arrive).

You think he wouldn't do it, Johnny? I'm afraid I don't share your confidence! There are already fixed penalty notices for all sorts of minor offences that, in years gone by, would have been grounds for arrest and a quick appearance before magistrates. These days, it's a case of pay up or prove your innocence. That thousand years' development is already well on the way to being chucked out.

That he's trying to equate anti-social behaviour with terrorism is telling as well. They've been trying to blur the definition of terrorism for several years now. IMO it's basically an exercise in tarring as many people as possible with the same brush as the real terrorists - because, after all, who will defend a terrorist? Terrorism is being turned into the new 'ism' - a meaningless catch-all phrase that can be applied to virtually anything and anyone the government deems an enemy.

The fact that all of this bullshit wouldn't wash in Canada makes the place seem even more attractive as a destination to emigrate to!

You don't know how lucky you are in that green and pleasant land. Most people in the UK are only interested in the latest ring-tone or the next series of X-factor ffs!
Sleepwalking into oblivion we are here in the UK.
