I didn't know who he was! Turns out someone I'd just met had sold him a house in Cornwall (for cash - apparently he writes songs for pop stars these days, and produced Robbie or something - dunno, I was pissed at the time ). Long hair and a goatee these days - looked like an older Dave Grohl, tbf.

I was thinking the other day that, as a snide riposte to the "Don't Look Back" series of gigs "curated" by the All Tomorrow's Parties organisation, in which bands replay a "classic" album in its entirety, that it would be brilliant to organize a "Don't Look Back" concert of Now That's What I Call Music Vol. 6. The one which had a pair of black leather trousers and the pig in shades on the cover. The one in which Elton John's "Nikita" nuzzled up against UB40 & Chrissie Hynde's "Breakfast In Bed" and David Bowie feat. Pat Metheny's "this is not America". Getting all the acts to play their song in strict order.

Crikey - I remember this playing at a party I went to where I drank too much vodka, failed to get off with this lass and then nearly got run over on the way home. Music and an era that's best forgotten imo.
