November Craft Club

Honey-coloured ramparts
With the end of my shrug in sight, I am feeling newly inspired!

I was looking at the I-Knit website, and noticed that they do a Sunday afternoon thing, where you can order lunch from the Bonnington Cafe, and then there's a pub quiz from 6pm at the Wheatsheaf. Does anyone fancy that?

November 19th is good for me. :)

Where's the Wheatsheaf, is it round Bonnington Square?

Sounds good, although I did go to I-Knit a couple of Sundays ago when it was meant to be open and it wasn't, so it would probably be a good idea to pre-arrange it with the shopkeeper.

count me in! :) we could bring what we have started for the you-know-what and see how it's going? :D

Sounds good in theory... but not sure if I'll be in a fit state to knit on a Sunday :D also, 19th rings a bell for me... will check.

I'm definitely up for that. The Wheatsheaf is just around the corner... I've been there a few times for drinks prior to going to Bonnington Cafe - it's fine, a bog standard, normal pub.

Knitting, Bonningtons AND pub quiz... sounds too good to be true tbh!!! I wouldn't be able to make it till about 2pm-ish.. and won't have lunch, but def up for the rest! :)

I'm actually considering making (knitting!) fingerless gloves. I noticed there's instructions in 'Yeah! I made it myself' by Eithne Farry and I'm sure I could poach some of mums knitting needles. I'm just pondering at this stage, but if the date you lot plan is after my deadlines then I might pop along. :)

That website is class...

Why? :D

Awww... looks more like a tomato than a pumpkin :D

Oh, the Wheatsheaf has been redone recently... have a peek through the window every morning on my way to work.. looks quite nice.

I love the mohair catsuit. I think I'm going to go knit me one.

19th sounds great, except if I'm in the same hungover state I am right now, then I prolly won't be able to focus on my needles.

I think I've been a bit traumatised by looking at the mohair fetish stuff. I was out shopping this afternoon and suddenly I was seeing mohair scarves and jumpers everywhere and recoiling in horror from them.

I quite like the Halloween vest too. Bloody stupid thing to knit though.

I've finished my shrug!

It fits, but it's very much a shrug not a cardi - I think I liked innit's one better (which she thinks is too big, but I rather like).

Hey ho. Now I can start something else!

Awesome, nov 19th is fine with me. I'm gutted I missed last week's one, I was ill from an operation :(

I'm all about the jumpers at the moment...

I'll let himself know. And hopefully he has remembered.

Oh eyah. I'm working on my own River now. In a pale green. I think I'd rather be doing it in that lovelly colour of Zoe's, but the green was what i had.

The Wheatsheaf is a nice pub, My granddad was born in a two room tenement building in the lane between the pub and the school. His parents were a musical act and used to play in the pub all the time as well as music halls in the east end, proper cockney knees up type affairs.

I'd be keen to come along - I've been lurking in your craft club discussions for a while now, and keep meaning to go to I-Knit. I used to knit regularly at the Dove on Broadway Market, with acechick, but we were both slack (especially me) and stopped going; it'd be nice to knit with others (and beer) again!

Um I feel like I should offer some knitting information about me now. I'm currently working on the endless edging of my first lace-weight shawl, from an EZ pattern. (But not really knitting lace - just skinny yarn and occasional rounds of YOs)

Hey ada - it'd be good to meet you!
come forth crafty lurkers... :)

19th sounds good - I'd be up for this, I need help with changing colours on a scarf I'm doing. I should know this but my many month long knitting hiatus hasn't helped :o

HOORAY!!!

Was it an anticlimax?

I was looking at mine the other day and thinking about how big it is and considering making another one
Maybe I'll eye yours up before deciding...

I'm flying back on the 19th so if we get home in time I'll come and beat my jetlag with a couple of beers and some knitting!

Awesome!!! It's all worth it in the end. Just make sure you do lots of wistful gazing out of windows... ;)

Right then ladies. There seems to be lots of interest, so I'll give the shop a call just to make sure it's definitely on that day, and then we'll make it a definite date.

:)

well done for finishing your shrug wehey :)
