Nottingham Days of Squatting Action

Friday and Saturday this weekend are the official International Days of Squatting Action and here in Nottingham we've decided to use the occasion to open a big building in the centre of town.

We'll be offering lots of free food, films and music and a number of workshops, such as juggling and bookbinding, but the main workshop will be the occupation of the squat itself. We aim to show what is possible if people put their heads together and a little bit about how it's done.

So, if you live in Nottingham come on down, or if there's nothing exciting going on in your city then hop on a bus and come on over.

Bring food (though there will be some there), zines, films, records, tools, unwanted furniture or nothing at all.

The exact location will be made public on Friday April 11th, on Notts Indymedia and on 07534 496679.

If I get bored at the weekend, I might pop in - in search of entertainment.

You are not all vegans, are you?

I hope, at least, you are not all teetotallers.

Ah, so it's the Old County Hall on High Pavement, then. ( http://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/regions/nottinghamshire/2008/04/396149.html )

It's a very handsome old building you've got there.

It must be a bit decrepit and absolutely filthy inside, though. You've got your work cut out there, young radical squatters, to make your "autonomous space" pleasant.

I walked past it yesterday afternoon. Apart from an open window on the first floor, I could see no sign of life.

I'll probably skip the vegan feast, anyway.
