This is the only board where liberal is used as an insult, apart from neocon boards, that I know. I did engage with legit crit, repeatedly. Didn't stop people attacking, did it?

'So-called anarchists' stung did it? Why? What is particularly anarchist about attacking a BNP petition on the internet? What is particularly anarchist about the behaviour on this thread, or in many threads on P&P?

I have great respect for people who try and do something about injustice and violent extremism, less for people who think it's clever to sneer when something doesn't meet their high standards. It's pretty pathetic, IMO. It ain't what i call anarchy either.

smokedout, I know you do good stuff. there are others here I'm far less convinced by and when I read thread after thread of people scrapping and sneering I think, what a waste, all that energy that could be spent doing something else, who is meant to be convinced by this, what good is it doing their cause? revol68 being the prime example but there are others.

that's my experience too. I would just add to that, criticism is fine, if it is constructive, offering a constructive alternative. However, I certainly have never noticed this being done.

I was a prominent member of Class War at the time and was very upset at that Searchlight smear. David Rose is a state lackey for sure. Searchlight smeared me again when they got Class War suspended from Anti Fascist Action. The allegations were that a leading member of Class War (lets call him DB) was seen associating with a leading member of the National front during the 1985 Brixton Riots (the latter person was supposed to be me). It was laughable but damaging. The reality was I have never had any involvement with the NF other than to attack them a few times when I was a teenager. You have to ask how Searchlight knew I was involved in the Brixton riots at all.
