I thought it was good, although Griff Rhys-Jones was mildly annoying. I knew some of it from the Ransome autobiography, and the biography by Hugh Brogan, but I hadn't realised quite how dangerous his trip back to get Evgenia had been, and I didn't know about the Estonian political connection.

When you think about it, the majority of the series are set outside the Lakes, but I always preferred the Lakes-set to the others. There's a good book of Ransome-related walks in the Lake District, but I can't remember what it's called (at the moment). There's a museum on the shores of Windermere, in Bowness-on-Windermere (Rio :) ) where you can see the original dinghies on which Swallow and Amazon were based, and the original of Captain Flint's houseboat.
