Northern Exposure

Aye, though I never really understood why.
I think cause it was just bizarre and different :)

You know, like Shelly & Holling....the 25 year old blonde hottie married to a 60 year old man :D

Although they're nothing like each other really, I can see how Spaced could have drawn a little inspiration from NE - a hodge-podge of quirky misfit type characters who muddle along together.

The humour is very different and much more gentle in NE though.

I absolutely LOVED Northern Exposure - I used to watch it in bed every week, and it was a big ritual being tucked up with a hot chocolate in time for the opening titles.

I agree, but if I had to choose between them, I'd coose Spaced, every time. spaced was waaaaaaaaaaay better.

NE was pretty cool though.:D

Yeah, and the rightwing ex-astronaut, and the philosophical DJ... it's all coming back to me now.

That was Maurice. Was a great series where the gay guys moved in and ribbed the hell out of especially when they found out he collected antiques and played showtunes.

Seen his boat in various movies and he's the basketball coach on One Tree Hill.

yea that whole segment was totally hilarious :D

Joel was the yummiest.

I fancied Chris too, but didn't like him *at all* when he turned up later in Sex And The City.

Ed was cuuute.

Catering for the Keanu Reeves crowd really - I thought he was lovely.

Very Twin Peaks but for the less hardcore, Northern Exposure, I thought.

I enjoyed it a lot. Haven't seen it for years.
