Nordic pop... get into it.

Have to agree that the last Annie album was ace. The new Husky Rescue album will please anyone who liked their last - it's in a very similar vein. I've just got my hands on the Lindstrom & Christabelle album and have had a listen to a couple of tracks - sounds good, very 80s. Oh, and The Knife have a new one out very soon...

actually the title would be better if it was "Nordic porn, get into it"

Anyway, some more Danish hip hop

UFO Yepha -
KNA Connected - Fibs -

or some Danish Metal (not as good as some of the stuff from Sweden, Norway or Finland)
Volbeat - the Gardens Tale -

or indie pop
The Romanian Empire - Criminal -

When me and a mate do a chill out mid week shift behind the bar these boys usually get a play:

Kings of Convenience.
And the non nerdy one is über-cute. :o

Surprised noone has put Alphabeat up (DK) -

But have spoken about my, erm, urges, towards Stine the singer on a thread on here before. My best mate was out drinking on Saturday and ended up chatting to them in a city bar. He proudly texted me to say put a good word in for me with her.

So that's my chances fucked then.

This thread reminded me to get "I'm from Barcelona's" second album "Who Killed Harry Houdini?". It's excellent and quite different from the first one ! Less poppy, more melancholy, but still full of great tunes. They do that choir-pop thing so much better than The Polyphonic Spree.

Yeah! I forgot them. THhey are brilliant and I highly recommend seeing them live, very fun.
Saw them a year ago and there was 14 of them on stage in a tiny club. With balloons they threw into the audience with cannons firing streams over everyones heads, a friend of mine got hit in the eye by an unravelled one which was highly amusing. At the end the lead singer crowd surfed all the way to the bar to pick up a pint. :D

Here's some of them in action.

Saw them live a few years ago and they are a great party band

Bel Canto anyone? I'm liking them quite a lot at the moment. The singer's done quite a bit of qork with Royksopp apparently.

You should definitely check out Jens Lekman: wonderfully melodic pop music.Sad day for puppets are quite nice, in a shoegazy kind of way. And if you want to listen to some ass kicking kraut inspired noise rock you can't go wrong with Audionom.
