Not as many as Brixton coz there's no tube? I bet. But it's OK and the people are nice.
I think so.
It's on the A23? In between Brixton and Brighton
Many times. Great pub. Love canals and canal boats
Yep, even ran the Wetherspoons there for a bit. Used to be awful, but it's more mixed these days.
yeah, I still think so.
I threw up on the station platform there once on the way back from Selhurst.
Makes me miss England just a little bit.
Plenty of times.
A friend of mine from school used to live opposite the railway station. Last I heard he was living in Camden and writing scripts for East Enders and The Bill.
Does Pollards Hill count too?
Nah. It's in Staffordshire a short drive north from Wolves.
I think we're supposed to be talking about this Norbury (SW16)
Yep, we are. Home to Mirch Masala and shaven haired youths of all persuasions.
Ignore those country bumpkin recidivists.
But, that Norbury is shit.
Yep, but are you really claiming that the mention of no tube in the OP referred to a place in the bleak countryside, full of straw-chewing yokels?
They have tubes there. Admit it, you would all far sooner be supping a real ale in olde worlde canal Norbury than paying through the nose for crap in London.
I'm gonna be living near there soon
Maybe i won't.....
But then again....
Not a fucking chance. I don't like water or stupidly narrow boats. And I've got severe hayfever.
<wags finger> And none of that trolling again young Stanley.
Yeah, used to live in the gray area between Norbury and Streatham, still go there occasionally for Mirch Masala.
Norbury does not have a lot going on. it's main pub, the sussex had so many fights it shut for 15 years and is about to open as an eaterie....
Mirsh masala is over rated. Trains to norbury stop everywhere on the way so are shit.
People crossing the road in the morning to get to the station are total fucking lemmings.
It does have a very good cook shop that happens to sell nitrous chargers.....
The library is shit too BTW.
Recorded a single in W Norbury at a premises owned by a former Sex Pistols roadie.
I've been to the shit norbury, a few times. Had a nice chinese there. Thatas all though. It is rather shit
I dont remember many fights in there. Had a lot of good nights myself and whilst it was a bit 'disco' for my musical tastes it used to attract some pretty young things.
Been there quite a few times in the past. Especially since they moved our bank.
I drive through it to get to Ikea, and I once picked Onket up there and gave him a lift.
Apparently I have been to Norbury then!
First full time job in London was delivering pizzas in Norbury.. and, ahem, other stuff.
I got fired for running like speedy gonzales when I was told to "hussle".
Funny place Norbury. It's less than two miles from where I live, yet I never meet anyone who lives there and no-one I know ever goes there. Have only been there once myself.
Yes, work related. Loved the big parks...
-once for work
-once for Mirch Masala (I too thought it was overated, and it was possibly the most oily food I have ever, ever had )
- dozens of times for the fantastic Shahee Bhelpoori, the best & cheapest Indian veggie restaurant I have ever been to. Was only there a couple of weeks ago.
