Worse thing I've read about them is that it turns to slop if you a) put too much in and b) don't put enough 'brown stuff' like newspaper egg boxes to compensate

Best compost tip I have is to turn it all regularly, once a fortnight.

I just stuff a few sheets in, pee on them :D , and then carry on filling up.

Trouble with that is that you are more likely to attract rats, etc. Also, dairy stuff and meat can sometimes get a bit stinky in the heap.

If you're not too spooked about that idea, fine, go ahead. It won't stop the heap working.

Nope.

I have a little bucket in the shed. If I'm caught short for a slash in there, it's a quick bucketful, then wait until the neighbours aren't looking and *splosh* inna bin.
