non english - do you want to see england mess up in the world cup???

You seem to have a thing about Anglo Saxons I suspect. Maybe if all England fans think and act the same, you think blacks are all muggers, all Turks/Kurds are skag dealers or Muslims are all terrorists?

I'm sure these lads saw the women and kids on the coach from 40 feet away and then decided to attack it.

I'm thinking the love of your land of birth probably didn't stop you moving to England the first chance you got :p

You seem very upset about something. I don't know what that stuff about muggers and skag and terrorists is all about - you just seem to just be making stuff up there and putting words into my mouth. Naughty boy.

The attack on the Turks was racist - you should acknowledge that and stop excusing it.

I lived in England for about 15 years and loved it. I've got nothing against English people whatsoever. :p

well really.
"yes best of luck our arch rivals, hope you have a good game what what".
*polite applause*

football should be more tribal than that. if it was a club match you wouldn't expect your fans to sit quietly through one of the opponents songs would you?

don't get me wrong, im not for violence or anything like that and what happens in the stadium should stay there, but in the stadium you should taunt boo and jeer your opponents all you can.

I disagree. There are certain occasions, such as games with historical rivals like France and Argentina, as well as teams like Turkey where it's arguably kind of understandable, if not condonable. France because they're, well, France. Argentina because of the footablling history between the two. And Turkey because of the disgraceful attitude of Turkish fans towards visiting teams. It does bother me though how indiscriminate it is, fans boo the anthem of just about every nation.

Give it a fucking rest.

Next you'll be trying to tell me that you haven't heard the phrase, "They think it's all over" replayed about ten thousand times...

You fucking give it a rest, fucking harping on about this. Firstly, it IS the other 'home nations' that mention this tremendous feat more times than not. Secondly, it's because of this inbred hatred for anything English that enables 'you lot' to home in on anything remotely to do with English success and rip it to pieces. It's your blinkered short sightedness that doesn't seem to be able to see past this and realise that the majority of us English folk don't give a fuck about past glories, and that it's the rest that keep reminding us. You're a broken record.

thats true enough to be fair, i never really understand why teams like Peru or denmark get booed.
But that said, it's harmless enough really, if somewhat disrespectful.
i'd add Germany(nach) and Scotland to your list of legitimate targets too :p

Those with braincells look at the events which led up to it - discount the deaths of 2 supporters to try and score a few cheap points if you want - the reasons why will still be the same.

Never see this problem when England play Albania do you.

The people I hear going on about it the most are people who say England go on about it too much.

There is something in that. There do seem to be bitter Scottish and Welsh fans who are more obssessed about it than many English fans.

brockway is just trolling

not even in a funny way :(

Of course.

Thing is if Brockway is say, a Man Utd fan, then you'd think after some of their experiences in Turkey he would understand the motivation (not thats it right) that drives people to seek revenge, realise there are still issues that cause deep resentment and not make snidey little jokes about it.

The racist chanting was just an excuse for the casually racist element to wind up the Turks and the liberal media ala No Surrender.... We were very lucky to get away with it too but then judging by the racist abuse Heskey was getting in the tunnel off Turkish players and officials in the return, so were they.

Can't recall Ireland doing much to justify their treatment in Trabzon a few years ago either. Maybe they have ahuge racist element we've yet to pick up on.

Hmnnn...

So when English fans attacked Tunisian and other local arabs in Marseilles in '98 what was the justification for that? Or say, when they rampaged in Malmo and Stockholm in '92. And remind me what were the mitigating circumstances in that friendly match with Ireland that had to be abandoned when seig-heiling England fans started throwing seats into a section populated by ordinary Ireland supporters.

It was the England supporters who were attacked by the locals first. England supporters then fought back before being tear gassed & baton charged by various French para-military police. During the day of the match English supporters who were watching the game at the public screen in Marsailles were then pelted with missles after England went one up. There was a wonderfull bit of TV footage of an English snare drummer beating a tattoo whilst all around him was mayhem & the missles were flying. But hey, why not just blame the English..

:

You think that because 2 Leeds fans got stabbed in Turkey it's understandable that Turkish fans who had nothing to do with that incident get attacked at an England v Turkey game?

A girl from S. Wales recently got raped and murdered whilst on holiday in Thailand. Does this now mean that I have to attack the next Thai person I see?

I was actually in Marseilles for that game so would love to hear your definition of what happened watching on Sky and then I'll tell you what really happened. The idea that you seem to be trying to paint the local North African population of Marseilles as the innocent victims makes me laugh.

The reason for the rampage was because there was a large hooligan element present. Fighting Sweden/German/Dutch who the same 'race' as them. Expand on the racist element there please.

And I'm sure if you asked some of those involved at Dublin you'd hear the 'mitigating circumstances' were something like 'we're fighting a war/standing up to those who appease child killers'.

If you think the above is how we all feel then there is no hope for you.

it's fucking stupid

this thread is 'do you want to see england mess up in the world cup?'

but brockway has succesfully managed to turn it into a stupid argument about wether england fans are racists, probly based on the same newspapers who he hates their portrayal of fans of his clubs etc

They'll scrape a group win by goal difference, then trudge past Poland, then if Portugal don't twat them in the quarters, Brazil surely will in the semis.

Yes because mob rule doesn't make distinction for things like innocents caught up in the middle only revenge.

And when the main suspect convicted has the conviction quoshed and faces a retrial, Leeds fans think there will be no justice so try to take matters into their own hands as their pride is hurt and the victims memory is being besmirched by people saying they were pissing on the Turkish flag with, what appears to be, only the words of a heroin addict to back it up. The only outlet they're left with is attacking Turkish supporters the next chance they get.

Its out of order but i understand the reasons behind their thinking. Same as I could if a group of Liverpool fans had kicked the f*ck out of a random innocent Sth Yorkshire copper after Hillsborough or Cardiff fans at wolves last weekend. If you can't then I'm assuming you watch from the armchair.

No doubt this will be interpreted as me justifying it though
