Living in a Box
Who could forget Living In A Box's fantastic hit single Living In A Box taken from their fantastic LP, Living In A Box, covered most notably by Living Colour.

"I'm a livin' in a box, I'm a livin' in a cardboard box." I bet he is.

Climie Fisher
Roxette
Stock, Aiken, Waterman.

Assuming you mean the J Geils Band, I am impressed that you are counting them as one of the greatest of the last 25 years. That opens up all kinds of possibilities. :)
Actually, tongues in cheeks aside, based purely on the album Full House they could be nominated. Of course, based on the year of release, they couldn't

Disclaimer: not that I really care but..
Can should only be considered on the basis of what they did during the time frame, which is 'Rite Time'. If people want to vote for that then fine!

Why?

Are you also going to say that we can only consider one line up from any one band as well?

Surely it's just the band itself, not what they produced at any given time?

fucking idiots. where's the fall?

the problem with 'greatest band' is that it tends to miss out many great lone operators... with techno (or indeed much electronic music) it's generally the case anyway.

i'll go for cybotron then. :)

<edit - i started writing before spion posted btw. i ain't that thick...>

It just seems an excuse to sneak older music in really. Also, do reunion/cash in tours count? Velvet Underground, Sex Pistols?

Where will it all end?

How many more have to die?

Um, they released stuff within the timeframe, and actually worked together in 1999. When they started doesn't really count in light of that

So nerr

Maybe I misunderstand, but that stuff is fine. I mean people can vote on the basis of post-82 Can, but pre-82 material should be excluded. Same with Kraftwerk, The Fall etc.

Nah, sorry, bollocks

We're not voting for output, we're voting for band

Very surprised no one has mention either The Stone Roses or Primal Scream. Both bands had a major influence on music both now & then. Should be on the poll.

OK last post on this:

So people can vote for the Velvet Underground on the Basis of 'with Nico' etc. because they technically had an existance in the 90s for a while?

Yeh, why not? I don't know the full details, but going on what you say, yeh

e2a - just checked up, and of course they can still count, but you're still missing the point in that it's not about the output, it's about the band, and they had a reunion in 92

Might as well make it another "best band ever" poll, then.

The plus side of that is at least Radiohead or Nirvana won't win.
