That's a rubbish comparison :p

the idea behind No Music Day is to make you think about music, and perhaps appreciate it more, not to ban it.

clearly the responses here indicate that everyone is so saturated in music you can't escape !

bill drummond obviously had a point about taking a day out.

Ooops I see Ed has already made the Taliban Day point....

Hmm, I guess if you're into Buddhism and silent meditation and anti noise-pollution there's a point to it....

But then why don't we have 'deny ourselves day' for everything so we can appreciate the joys of them more?

No Wine Day? No Kissing Day? No Smiling Day?

Doesn't sound like much fun to me :(

Interesting idea, but one best mused over several pints on a Sunday afternoon. Not on the night I'm taking me best mate to see her fave band ever - I can just see her face, me turning up and sayin 'nah, not going mate, Bill Drummond said we shouldn't' :D

Good to see the mods are singing from the same hymnsheet!

Evenb though the Taliban analogy is flawed due to the fact that this is completely voluntary.

if wine was becoming overly pervasive in the UK and you couldn't escape from it then a No Wine Day be a good idea surely. Recorded music invades our world more and more........
