No Music Day

That's rubbish :p

Or do you assume - whenever you 'hear' silence, or as near to it as we get, that somebody nearby is playing a John Cage record?
That's just it though - we never have silence, and when you have sound you can have music.

So on No Music Day, even without putting any music on, you'l be surrounded by music?

Excellent - that's an interesting idea. Good to see you joining in :p

so it's caused a reaction. You'll be playing music at least partly for different reasons, so in a sense you're as involved as someone taking part.

I dunno, I've never really needed a reason to make a fuckload of noise :D

Awwww, fuck off :D

OK, I'll be doing it anyway, the fact it's NMD is purely coincidental :p

That's not what you said.

See, there's no escape. The only way to avoid playing music because of no music day, is to NOT play music because of no music day.

mwahaahahah

It's an interesting enough idea. Although I always forget these things when it comes round to it.

(Recalls walking to work late one september morning in 2002 wondering why there were loads of people standing around looking solemn :o )

or to forget that no music day actually exists and then just play music anyway . So Dub your mission now is to stalk bees on no music day and constantly remind him what day it is !

It's this Tuesday! Don't forget.

I won't take any notice of a preordained, predesignated no music day ... if I choose** not to play music, it can be whichever day I like ... :p

**As in, can't be arsed/too busy ... :p

In general, I play some music of some sort round about 5 out of 7 days ...

How can you be too busy to not play any music?

It's today...........I just realised that adhering to this will involve no TV or Cinema or any form of entertainment. Full marks to anyone who spots a bit of music on resonancefm today I wonder whether they can keep it up.

Bill Drummond was on radio 4 talking about this this morning, it sounded like a good idea, too late for me already tho, but still i had a think about it.

It's much harder to do do than I realised. Whilst I have chosen to try and avoid music today, have heard some on the radio at work, on the radio in the cafe, and on Radio 4 (cos I can't get Resonance in my area). Later on when i watch telly I will get adverts, theme tunes etc.

Just because you've heard some music today, doesn't mean you shouldn't try to not listen to any for the rest of the day.

Ooooops - I have already failed spectacularly and had some bangin' choons on whilst I got ready for work.

The plumber who is doing some work for us today is also incredulous at the prospect, and has turned his radio up.....

No music day.........grrrrrrrrrrrr

I haven't listened to any music today. Entirely because I seldom listen to music other than in the evening.
