No more Planet Angel....

playing breaks, ska, jungle and drum and bass. Not what you would expect at all.

Drum n Bass and Jungle at Planet Angel??. I used to love going there a couple of years ago when I was on my pill honeymoon, even though I hate psytrance, I used to love the atmosphere of the place. It's a shame really, but I suppose people find the fluffyness a bit too much, I know I did.

Sounds like fun Hollis

But I am a bit worried about this

On Friday, February the 3rd, Synergy will once again open its doors to welcome revellers of all ages into the communal fold, presenting a diverse and creative show for which Synergy has become so renowned. Entering our 3rd year, we are proud to look back at what we, as a community, have managed to manifest in such a short time.

Are you sure I'm not gonna end up on some bizarre sacrifical altar dressed in a white gown and being 'cleansed' by a priest (ie dirty old man)

I don't have any truck with things involving a word like 'Yurt'

Sounds like an early 4x4 for cavemen or something...

Sad to hear PA's knocking it on the head for the time being - it was there and whirl-y-gig where I first cut my teeth (in certain respects ;) ) . . . excellent parties, wicked people.

Oh and PA never played psy-trance wjhen I was going (a few years ago admittedly) - strictly hands-in't-air cheese laden uplifting melodic trance. Tho apparently they changed their music recently to 'positive' music, what ever that may mean.

they asked me recently if i wanted to DJ in the backroom, but i had to promise not to play any of that 'negative' reggae, only bouncy happy stuff.

So, no Big Youth but lots of Chaka Demus & Pliers.

That's a vision I didn't need to have. Hollis having it large to Psy-trance, hands aloft, selection of cheeses in his bag....

 ;)

ROFLMAO!

You don't know what you're missing, have you got any idea how much a humble safeway's camembert improves during a night out raving in Hollis' bag?? :D

Nah, Hollis is more of a Primula man.

Planet Angel hasn't died, it's just without a home for a bit.

As to why, well, there's been no official line on it, but I wouldn't be surprised if it had something to do with a certain actvity that goes on in nightclubs, that isn't dancing...it used to really annoy me actually, the amount of PA goers who would get the hump when told not to smoke a jazz fag in the Arches.

Hollis - I never got round to that PM, having been in a meeting all afternoon, but don't go to Synergy FFS!

Anyone else who like PA will probably like Edensounds, which has attracted a similar type to PA (and the odd short, pop record playing dj type). It's at Jamm, and generally has a strong hands in the air trance thing going on, but mercifully caters to other things like dnb and breaks...PA alternative? here's a linky,

Hmm.. the "Spangly Dangly" bit on the flyers sold it too us..

What sort of age range is it?

Edited:

okay - checked the gallery - nowt to worry about. :D
