Watched the game at a sort of beach bar by the Spree, well cool. I was the only one for Poland though. Ballack's mid-wife was interviewed after the game in his home town. The interviewer clearly stumped for something to talk about asked her 'how was it?'

That was a bit arse, thought Poland would hang on for the draw though. My Polish companion though wasn't for having it "we're shit, i knew it was coming".

Got her to admit that Boruc was not shit though, and a more than able replacement for Dudek, who was "the best" apparently.

The only way England will meet Germany in the next round is if they fuck up against Trinidad and/or Sweden and come 2nd in the group, which means they're shit, much shitter than we'd thought, which means Germany will twat them.

Poland aren't out yet either - as pointed out above, there's still a glimmer of hope if Costa Rica beat Ecuador today.

the first half was a bit dull but the second half was great. i was gutted when germany scored but tbh it was about time they did. that minute where it bounced off the goal twice was but they had loads of chances and failed. I was most impressed with the polish team though, esp the goalie.

Out of interest, did you think the first half was dull 'cos there were loads of tasty challenges flying in and it was all a bit physical? 'cos I thought that was great

yep i watched it, they can only get better, the germans seemed to have peaked

i watched in the effra with some brasilians and polish guys.

i thought that it would be good for the polish to win as well. it would have been super for their confidence (and plus they where playing like the tigers). and we would have still been in it anyway.

i think towards the end of the game the germans played slightly better though. and of course i am also happy now.


btw: schweinsteiger translates as pig mounter i wonder that if is what his family used to do mainly in the old days?

The Poles were pretty cynical with their fouling - i'm glad they lost. The WC doesn't need negative teams like that. The keeper looked very handy,as did Bak the defender.
