Look who they got in the knockouts though -- 1-0 v Paraguay, streaky against USA, spawny against Korea, brushed aside by Brazil.

They won't get beyond the quarterfinals. They can't.

Am I right in thinking Schweinsteiger means something like 'Pig sticker'? or is that wishful thinking?

Kinnell that was an exciting second half, Poland's defence was unrecognisable compared to the rubbish they showed against Ecuador.

I was convinced that after Germany hit the bar twice in the same attack, it would end up goalless. That Odonkor, of whom I'd never heard was a class player, as was Neuville ... why ws he evr dropped, you have to ask (on that supersub performance anyway).

the first half was a bit dull but the second half was great. i was gutted when germany scored but tbh it was about time they did. that minute where it bounced off the goal twice was but they had loads of chances and failed. I was most impressed with the polish team though, esp the goalie.
