I know a couple of Italian tv chefs have mentioned it, and in Heston Blumenthal's perfect Spaghetti Bolognese he mentioned the rule as well, but that was a precursor to him saying that he was breaking the rule.
The best I've found is a couple of pro chef discussion boards and without fail all the sauce recipes state 'garlic or onion'.
