no alcohol allowed at Glade????

This thread brings back memories of when we smuggled vodka into the Southport soul weekender in old Pantene bottles and spent the weekend drinking soap flavoured spirits with a head on them!
Re. Not being allowed to take food - I went to Pride in London for years and years, it was always a tradition for my friends and I to take a case of really good wine and a big ole picnic.
when it was moved to a fenced off bit of Hyde Park they banned you from bringing food. It ruined it for us, we lasted half an hour and vowed never to go again.

Nor me.
Doesn't sound much like a festival to me... more like a big club with no roof and camping
There are no arena areas at the Glade, take your booze wherever you like.

The Big Chill pulled the same kind of shitty strokes and it's become common everywhere now. "You Vill Drink Our Overpriced Ale or You Vill Drink Nothing At All"

Makes you realise how easy going Glasto is by comparison. You could drive a Mini Moke full of lager up to the stage and everything's cool.
The Glade people say it's a condition of the licence. But I don't know why West Berks council can place such a restriction, yet Mendip District Council hasn't done the same with Glasto. Mind you, let's hope they're not reading this or they might get ideas...

In the end the Eavises/Glastonbury Festival call the shots in practice, as much as the Council. I'm a bit mystified abiut how they manage to maintain such a (relatively) slack licence, but it seems to work in practice ... :)

How are you Tyler, long time no postings! ;)
