No 10 apology over 'slur' e-mails

Indeed and if these right wing bloggers, currently wanking themselves into a lather, think the public are more concerned with this than losing their jobs or house prices tanking they're mad.

exactly. politicians may be totally out of touch with what 'the public' are concerned about, but i think that goes for political ANALysts mostly too

I expect the Labour fight back will be policy led full of stuff about working for ordinary people who are worried about the economy etc...

I've been following this on politicalbetting.com. Guido has apparently named Labour MP Tom Watson as also being involved in the e-mails, he also claimed that they contain the names of various journalists that would help spread the rumours.
This can't be coincidence. I signed in to check if Tom Watson is the name of the guy who made those anti-Tory skits, like Cameron's 'report card', and the shadow cabinet 'online chat'. I mentioned these in another thread, actually the one I started, about how my MP's Parliamentary Assistant, James Green, plagiarised a press statement by 7 other Labour MPs to use in his constituency newsletter. I'm not great with my own CP, but when I post this, I can look up my own posts and find out...

Nope, wasn't in that thread, but am I right, and Watson is the guy who crafted those clearly cleverdick viral puffs?

Note that this little spat has resulted in a quick resignation but fraudulent expense claim from the Home Sec didnt. What is that about?

Is there a hidden secret?

It means that the person is not elected and so small enough to be cut off (jobs in the think tanks await) Is there anything else?

Dear oh dear oh dear....
Not surprised that this goes on but this sort of fuckwittery is astounding.

Must be a lot of hand wringing right now

If it freed her up to do some work while he went off and did his own 'thing', that counts as a legitimate expense...

Look up the term. doofus. They were inapproprioate but they weren't "fraudulent.

Hokeydokes dufe:

Dictionary.com

Fraud:

noun 1. deceit, trickery, sharp practice, or breach of confidence, perpetrated for profit or to gain some unfair or dishonest advantage.
2. a particular instance of such deceit or trickery: mail fraud; election frauds.
3. any deception, trickery, or humbug: That diet book is a fraud and a waste of time.
4. a person who makes deceitful pretenses; sham; poseur
.

They are only allowed (obviously) to apply for legit expenses. Submitting something claiming to be legit that aint is fraud, as would be defined by at least some of the above.

the ever conservative news anchor on skynews, suggesting that brings into question the value of political blogging? huh? why, it seems the smears were disrupted by a 'blogger' and that the newspaper will carry the smears and at the end of the day none of the people involved are just bloggers but pr guys.

Butchers, I aint going to play "whack the mole" with this one.

In submitting the expenses it is understood that the claim is legitimate. It wasnt. It was pretending to be something it wasnt. It was fraud.

Wrong again moley. If you can't even get this basic stuff right what hope is there?

I am slightly puzzled.

If Smiths claim for hubbys little film-fest was wrong and she had to pay the money back then surely it does count as fraud ?

She signed off on them and had taken the money. The strikes me as being technically fraud in that she sort to decieve for financial gain.

Why?

Wouldn't they be done for fraud if it was fraud? Someone like that?

Not sure. But it does strike me as being technically fraud in as much as she KNEW that it was wrong to claim for such a thing but did so anyway. This was not a case of making a general mistake or being a grey area but something that was simply wrong.

I guess it could be argued that the monetary value of these films made it not worth the effort and cost to prosecute but that still does not alter the fact that it was a fraudulent expenses claim.

Every time you let the guard down you reveal your contempt for 'ordinary people' - in common with most submeged consprialoons you are an elitist misanthropic tool.
