Nightmare on seedz Street

teehee:D

Indian chilli's are bloody lovely innit, the Asain supermarkets near me seem to sell a lot of long green ones and those fat little capsicum shaped chilli's.

They are good - those little green ones stuffed with seeds. Make a great tasting curry.

In the curry houses around where I used to live a plate of chillis was placed on the table to cleanse your palette between curry courses. I never did try one.

Where I live now if I get a curry I have to labour the point about wanting it "really hot". Back in Hounslow I laboured the point about wanting it mild.

I bet the chefs in Hounslow come from a different part of india than the ones where you live now.

No show seeds include, hosta, helebors, candelabra primulas, fritillaria and a rare verbascum (copper rose) which i only managed to get 10 seeds for and they were like dust......
:(

I planted some supposedly early starting tomatoes over 3 weeks ago and only one has sprouted

but another variety 'Pink Brandywine' (I think) has come up and they only went in last weekend.

Am also not having much joy with me courgettes and last year they were off with a jump!

and all this is in a sunny greenhouse

On a positive note I planted rocket, lettuce and Japanese radish 3 weeks ago and we have already had baby leaf salad and it was delicious :)

I've always sown Habeneros in a heated propagator, I wonder if they're too sensitive to the cold to germinate in colder climes without artificial warmth.

the first type of aubergines I got haven't done anything.

nor have the chilean glory vines, though that might be 'cos they was old seeds.

I'm now going with some other aubergines, to see what happens.

Meanwhile, Stig has had fifty million chilli seedlings grow. We actually composted a couple of hundred billion of them, 'cos she couldn't be bothered to repot them

I feel I should clear up a small point here: I didn't compost them because I couldn't be bothered, it was because we only had room for the first twenty five million on the windowsills... now that we have a greenhouse in the front room I am regretting that decision :D
