Look at the post I quoted you from. It's from 2023, your post about Renfield.
Ah, fair enough. As I had just posted about his new film I skim read your post and thought you were enquiring about the new one.

At the moment I can’t see Renfield available for free as part of any of the main streaming services, sadly. Though that’s bound to change at some point.

Just saw it (Long Legs) at the cinema. Lots of prosthetics so it doesn't really look like NC but I'd recognise that scenery chewing anywhere.

The trailer I saw the other day didn’t seem to show him, or if he was I didn’t recognise him, and IIRC his name flashed In third or fourth at the end of the trailer credits. So it felt to me he’s not the main lead or even the main attraction.

As a horror film fan I am looking forward to this regardless of Cage’s presence, as it seems to have received positive reviews. What did you think of it?

The trailer doesn't show him.

From the films you've seen at the cinema thread:

Long Legs. Starts pretty promisingly, second act is okay but by the third, it had completely run out of steam, with the whole explanation/wrap up of events kind of chucked in there and not making a great deal of sense. (The ending is heavily telegraphed from the start too so that was a bit meh.) Nicholas Cage is pretty unrecognisable visually but he's on top scenery chewing form and all while channelling Joaquin Phoenix's Joker.

I've gone from beng meh on Cage to loving him. He's getting a lot of work, and some of the films are really interesting.

Pig was great. Unbearable Talent was amusing, and watchable. Not brilliant. Dream Scenario was really good. Mandy was mental, and interesting, at least, but I wasn't a huge fan.

His worst film is Bad Lieutenant I think. Though, I haven't seen Wicker Man.

Just watched longlegs and I enjoyed but agree with your review. It was a bit too telegraphed.

Still decent, and would recommend it.
Worst film I've seen all year:D

Tosh, and manages to be offensively crap at that. Oh the devil made me kill my family... (aided by a complicit woman, natch)

That bit when Cage bashes his head into the table? Yes, I could relate to that, sat there watching this drivel.
