Scott Walker's last two ''weird' albums are difficult to listen to, but reward perseverance. Nico's stuff with Cale is just weird and difficult. It seems to be trying to do something interesting, but it's just tuneless wibble.

She's an acquired taste for sure but I think she has one of the most interesting and affecting voices I've ever heard. Some of her solo stuff is beautiful.

I love her solo stuff. I didnt know anything about her racist stuff till I just read this thread, not good but I doubt it will change my view of her music. I like her voice & use of harmoniums, even if she sometimes sounded like she knew what a parking meters are.

I think she sang some really brilliantly written songs for the Velvets that would have sounded even better with a decent vocalist.

^This. I'll be your mirror is a wonderful song even with her on it, it would have been even better with Mo Tucker singing. She couldn't sing either of course but she had an innocent sweetness in her voice that works wonderfully on 'after hours'.
