I seem to remeber reading in a paper somewhere that, assuming Brown becomes leader, he'd want someone with different qualities to his to broaden the appeal - i.e. a woman with an English accent. Probably just paper talk (the social democratic equivelant of "Everton eye up £5m Robbie Keane") but with Hewitt the only woman on that list, got to be worth a punt?

I would have to know Brown's business plans for this one. As Tessa Jowell has very strong ties with the Mafia, it maybe a bit dodgy for her to be brought forward to such a high profile position. Although I cannot see Patricia Hewitt getting the job too, as I have a feeling Brown is keeping her as Britains first female Chancellor.
