New Years Eve

I haven't been yet :)

Will be sure to let you know how the occupiers of zion are behaving out in the old raj ;)

Everybody?

Well I would have hoped they're not annoying you yet, at least, - you haven't even got there, - powerfully annoying they'd have to be to do that.

Maybe just everyone who's there. Except the other israelis, - which I imagine kind of suits them, if it's true.

But as far as annoying's concerned, you know, I've never had a single israeli come and pester me or complain about the evils of the british government, - but for them, there seem to be all the time these people from other countries who seem to think the actions of their government are something they have a duty to comment about. So if the israelis abroad seem a bit tribal and rude, well maybe that's why. But they are a bit. -- I remember one who told me, "in India there are three kinds of people, - Indians Tourists, and Israelis. Which one are you? :D " But I find that funnier now than I did at the time.

And actually, their rudeness is actually just they tell you straight what you're like, and if they want to talk to you, which is quite refreshing.

No, they're not annoying me YET, obviously, but the State of Israel is annoying me, and actually that's an understatement. I would never judge someone on the actions of their government (with whom they may strongly have disagreement) though.

How did we get onto this on a New Year's Eve thread, by the way?

Not my fault. Honest. Sorry.

All I did was mention the israelis, - and that was only because I wanted to find out how was Goa, cause I thoguht you'd been.

But, before we drop the subject, I will have the last word. ;) In fact, governments the world over are usually annoying, -- Ours is really annoying. It makes much more sense to be annoyed by ours than to worry about the israeli government, which has comparatively little effect on our lives.

Annoying who?

they annoyed me when i went in 1995.

well to be strictly accurate their mothers annoyed me. some israeli kid had died at a party and the govt chartered a plane out to Goa full of concerned mothers looking for their kids who were quite happily cutting loose after national service and getting totally ball bagged which i don't really blame them for tbh.

i had about 3 days of being harassed by concerned mothers everywhere i went while all the israeli kids hid in the woods doing acid during the day only coming out at night when the mothers had all gone.

also a mate of mine went to south america and there was an email group you could join which tracked the packs of israeli's so you could avoid them.

Classic, well, they annoyed me too, in 2000, - but, well, yes. I think they're ace these days.

Well, of course it makes sense to be annoyed by ours. But you are wrong about the Israeli government having little effect on our lives . Anyway, a New Year's thread is not the place to be talking about UN resolutions and Israel's 1947 borders....:D

ParTAAAAAYYYYY!!!!!

(cough)

Lucky you - Jaisalmer is stunning! about a quarter of the population still live in the Citadel itself, and theres the Palace, Jain Temples etc to see. Its a desert city so you can do camel trekking etc.

There's a Govt. Bhang shop next to the main entrance to the Citadel and I had the best Samosas I've ever tasted from a shop just opposite :D

I've bought a ticket from Bristol parkway to London at half eight so I can grab a train afetr work and head down. I thought there would be no problem in finding something to do. (pref, a multirigger somewhere) but I really don't fancy Disco.

What else is happening? Should I just stay in Brizzle, I know I'll find lots of d'n'b here.

I would start by advising you not to go to Southend.
