I was in a similar situation last year and went for jobs that did not immediately correspond to what I was doing before. I explained that the job was an beeration and was mis-sold to me. I also said that, as soon as that became clear to me, I decided to look for another role that was more suited to my experience and background. Not one interviewer disagreed.
