New washing machine uses just one cup of water!

EASY.

I asked my 6 year old nephew and he said by spraying the water, so you get a fine mist, like out of the nozzle of a spray bottle.

It doesn't show that in the 'diagram'. It just shows water dropping from the soap dispenser into the drum. :p

this is just going to end up with tiny plastic balls going all over the floor everytime you take your washing out of the machine... nice idea, but I can't really see it catching on for that reason alone.

What happens when the chips wear out - can you just use oven chips instead? I don't really want to walk around stinking of chips but if it's good for the environment I don't care. Do you still need water if you use oven chips? They'll probably get a bit soggy. Could you use vinegar instead? Can you still eat them afterwards? I'm in two minds about this.

A cup of water probably wouldn't dissolve the detergent either.

I get enough soap powder marks on clothes anyway and that's with using the conventional x gallons of water.
