New Super Furry Animals - "Dark Days Light Years"

I liked "Hey Venus", short and sharp, akin to "Fuzzy Logic". I agree "Love Kraft" is probably their weakest but pleased to say that on one listen "DDs/LYs" is very good, as is expected.

I like Inaugural Trams. Top tune and nicely bonkers.

Edit: there's a lot of beard going on in that video. I like the footage of them passing a 'Brains Beer' railway bridge too. :)

I fucking love their 'Festival Wynd' concept - and the fact they've even bothered to write it all down (with controls for wynd, climate and drugs). Quality!

 at streaming video. The whole thing was slowing down to a crawl, and had to quit after two minutes.

So far they haven't released an album I haven't eventually got into. Not always very quickly. It took me a while to connect with Guerilla and Radiator. Whereas I loved Fuzzy Logic and Mwng from hearing the first note.

Listening to it on spotify now. Am I mad or do any of these songs have more than 2 chords?

What do we think of Cian and Bunf's singing? It sounds a little odd having got used to Gruff's voice over the years, but they're pretty good too.

mmm, I love my wonderfully big thick heavy vinyl copy! And who can fault a bnad that gives away the CD free.

it's another corker

that's a bugger.

If you went to Spillers, did you at least get one of the last remaining double Mwng vinyls, signed by the band??

yes i did and lush it is too!
got up a bit late and missed out on the signed ones tho :o
(apparently they didn't all go til 11!)
but the nice owner bloke offered to find guto to sign it for me as he'd not long finished his dj set.
this even though it was record store day, his shop was rammed full, constant instore performances and people asking him questions from all angles at all times!

Their songs on Love Kraft were pretty good I thought, although Daf's (Atomic Lust) was my favourite. If you listen to all the harmonies on other SFA records you can tell they're all good singers.

e2a: Wikipedia informs me that Cian and Daf are brothers, who knew that?
