Maybe so, but those greasy spoons will become a thing of the past if Starbucks are allowed their way.
And that means no more cheap fry ups and decent mugs of tea.
I really doubt this. Most little "greasy spoon" cafes are not located on the kind of "main street" locations that the likes of Starbucks would want to take over.
Round where I live (Kilburn) the best little cafes tend to be on the side streets - where the shop units are dirt cheap to rent in the first place.
No danger of any big chain wanting those. And unless Starbucks start doing a decent fry-up, the greasy spoons will always have customers.
