Lonsdale has got to be the best kit manufacturer, I'm impressed.
I do hate sponsors on shirts though, I reckon clubs should sell versions of their shirts without sponsors so people can choose. I managed to get a Swindon shirt off ebay without a sponsor on a few years back actually and very nice it looks too!
I've got that book about Robin Friday by the way, pretty good.
I would definitely prefer kits without any sponsors, including the manufacturers who essentially sponsors anyway. They pay enough. That said I did for years avoid anything made by JVC and now stear clear of all things O2. Doesn't mean I always go on Thomson holidays though.
I still don't like Spurs' blue arms but I saw someone wearing the kit in town the other day and it does look quite nice were it not for the arms.
Saw someone wearing the new Chelski shirt the other day. It looks to me like one of those obviously fake shirts you see for sale in markets when you're on holiday in Turkey!
Yeah, Robin Friday. Played for Reading as well as Cardiff. There's a book about him, written by Paolo Hewitt and Guigsy (ex-Oasis). Haven't read it myself, I'll get round to it one day.
I might just start a seperate thread, but i would advise any footie fan who hasn't already to read this book. It's basically a the transcripts of a series of interviews carried out by Guigsy and Hewitt with all the people involved in the Robin Friday story from his beginnings at Hayes to his time with Cardiff City. The guy made Gazza look like a tee-totaller at a vicar's tea party. The book is full of stories of him turning up at five to three half cut, going out on the pitch scoring two goals in a blinding display and leaving the club without a shower, with a can of Special Brew in his hand, not to be seen til five to three the next week!
