New spl season gets started

well there i was thinking we were having a dicussion about the new SPL season- which then wandered onto the topic of rangers debt
and then berti, with a very big stick, starts stirring lots and lots of shit.
it doesnt matter whose thread it is
are you going out of your way to piss people off?
if you "couldnt give a fuck franckly"
then 'bile yer heed' - i beleive is the correct weegie phrase..

Does berti have a keyboard shortcut for "plastic tim" that he keeps hitting accidentally? I'd like to know what criteria I fall under for being one. So I know if I can get my membership card like.

rangers debt is what it is...massive, and realy shite if yer a hun. I'm not a hun, chorlty accused me of being a 'brit' i'm not, i hate the union jack, i distrust the uk government, i'm a scot and proud of it.
I'll be at almondvale on saturday, i would have been at hampden two days from now, but kids expect something for there birthday these days so i can't(not without being the biggest cunt ever, and believe me i thought about it). I love being a scot and i love fitba. there fore i have to love scottish fitba, no matter how shit it is, or appears to be. And i mean right down to livingston united junior team, who's ground-station park- is right outside my kitchen window.
all you lot know is what you read or see on the tv, thats my point, i live it every day you watch it on setanta at the weekend.

yeah well not for much longer
setanta are only half way to meeting their 'magic number' of subscribers
its like the whole itv digital deal that bollocked the nationwide in england

actually- i think chorlton had said that a while back

oh and bertie- if you love scottish football SO much
could you be persuaded to buy a ticket for a Hibs v Celtic match in Edinburgh on the 19th September?

I think if you look back thru the htreads on this you'll find that i said that too. Infact i do believe i started the thread onit. As i predicted, a fucking mess.....what is it 49k or something, when they needed 89K?

yeh its a shambles!!

so you go to ALL the celtic home games(at least) then? Or some of there away games(at least)then?

Up til the season before last, yes. I had a season ticket from the year we moved back to Parkhead but I was missing too many games through uni and work to justify paying for it. Was the hardest thing I ever did giving that ticket up. However any games I can get a spare ticket for and I'm not working I go to. I went to my first game when I was 5. I come from Glasgow. In fact I stuck with Celtic through the lean barren years, a time when I was the only kid in the school who supported them whilst that mob won everything.

So how am I a plastic tim?

I'll probably be working, will know by thursday, if you've still got it then and I'm free then I'll take it off your hands.

But why would plastic tims like us want to go to the match anyway?

To prove a point.
To complete strangers we dont know
who live on annonymous web boards.

and to make us feel big and clever?

this is the single best thing ever... i tell a lie - the best thing ever was bertie accusing someone else getting cup finals mixed up earlier - but this is definately up there - i can hear the fanfare as bertie stands there with his chest puffed out proudly bearing the colours of his newly formed nice shiny club, secure in the knowledge that he will be a better fan than us because...... errrr because HE LIVES IT EVERYDAY MOTHERFUCKERS....

bertie, sometimes i love you.

anyway that aside i actaully have put easter road aside as one of the aways that i want to do this year but i can't do this one mate sorry - obv if i wasn't such a plastic-tim i woulda bought ten off them off ye n'that

ten?......be serious man.

winding you up about the plasticity of your timness is funny, i can't deny that. But not quite as funny as such statements as, the majority of huns are rightwingers, or even better that motherwell have ...a what was it?...a saturday squad or sumthin? That was funnier than anything i could have come up with-even on a good day.

oh and mod you come from parkhead?.....mmmmm...ok

I think he meant the royal we, as in Celtic, moving back to Parkhead from Hampden. Not himself.
Mod mans a Southsider like me.

No I come from Croftfoot, by rights I should support Queen's Park but as I said I got taken to see the Celts when I was 5 by my dad, a dismal 2 all draw with Hamilton Accies and I was hooked.

Who did you support before Livingston btw berti? Or are you a newcomer to the game? Either way could be argued your more plastic than anyone on this thread

right... fucken enough of this now - i don't really see the need to add another thread for the celtic barcelona game as most of those interested look in this thread anyway - so what does everyone think?

i have just been hit by a realisation, delayed shock if you will that we got done last year because of lack of depth to the squad and we are actually in a worse position this year - wheras barca have undoubtedly got stronger - scarely so.... and they have some swedish baldy fella upfront who i reckon looks decent... in fact they look quite awesome....

I can't get over how disapointed i am with MoN on the lack of signings - i realise that there is not a lot of money in the game in scotland and that moustachioed irishmen need to be placated but for the love of henke how can anyone deny that we need a keeper? that joos just ain't a viable propostion these days and... well we just need all round backup really - no, not another micky gray thanks.

i said before i got prematch nerves that the shaktar games will be the most important and i stand by that - i don't think they are any mugs and i think we can (just) beat anyone at celtic park but i do fear barca - they will want revenge....

This from the man who blames me for us losing the UEFA Cup for forgetting the "Please Let Celtic Win Tonight" thread!

I hold you personally responsible for that IBeM - in your heart of hearts you know it to be true also...... you disgust me.... and not in a nice way either.... if you forget this year - i.... i.... i'll give you a wedgie and hang you from yer bundies outside annie millers.... forget henke, deco, davids et al - the fate of our entire campaign rests with you.

no pressure like

Ok I'll be extra sure to this year (finally got a decent connection in my house - no more relying on uni) so there will be a thread for every tie. As long as Red Faction doesn't try to jump in again  :p

Just for reference sake:

14th Sept Barca at home
29th Sept AC away
20th Oct Shaktar away
2nd Nov Shaktar home
24th Nov Barca away
7th Dec AC home

i'm not going to say who i went to see before livingston fc came along. It could be predi...(eh however you spell it)to any future arguments on the matter. Lets just say it was neither of the o/f. i spent alot of time attending junior games(i live right next door to livingston uniteds staition park)and have been supporting the scottish national side for as long as i can remember. I went to see other clubs including hearts( the 'official' club that members of my family are supposed to support) and falkirk, but it's not the same when you can't go to see the club from your own town play(i'm not saying everyone should support only btheir home town clubs, just thst i like to do that)

Anyway enough of that i'm going to watch livi-killi at almondvale tomorow. It's always a good game for goals(not always in livi's favour) there have been scores like livi6-killi1 and livi0-killi4. Although it's not been the same since sumo left killi, theres noone to throw pies at.....

So why not just support Livvy united then instead of going to see all those other sides? If supporting your home town team means so much to you.

Why not just support Celtic then instead of going to see all those other sides as they are clearly better than all the other teams in Scotland?!!

supporting a junior side is quite different from supporting a senior side. Slag me for supporting a 'new' side if you want. But i went to see this club when they were in the 3rd, second and first divisions. Its not the same as supporting a big club from glasgow, i grant you, we are not a club with a whole centuary of history, but i love my town and am proud that we are represented by a senior fitba club.

there is only one 'v' livi. i'm dixlesic and sometimes i need to read things 2 or 3 times to understand what is being said. but even i know livi has only one 'v'........sorry.
