as i understand it RF, 'the mint' is basically increasing his hold in rfc by buying up shares that will rather conveniently be underwritten by a completely different entity oh... say.... Murray Intl or someone like that or perhaps even .... oh i dunno - some other charitable sort this is more than likely due to the banks now wanting to put pressure on the other clubs... they can hardly been seen to do so without rfc at least making it seem like they are getting their house in order first. - as someone once said - if you owe the bank 1000 its your problem - if you owe the bank 100m its their problem - I think but am no means certain that halifax bank of scotland i believe moved their rfc operations from the bank of scotland side to the halifax side pretty soon after the merger.... pretty soon after a man on a galloping horse took one look at the statements....

like i say thats all nonsense and based purely on speculation

they are actually worth less - you can buy them on the open market for 84p i believe - or 1pound from rangers - the difference of course being that if you by them for 84p the money goes to the owner of the share - buy them at 1pound and the money goes into rfc.

now as i understand it - in the last share issue of 2000 (when the forces of darkness were lookin pretty strong under the dutchman) was very unsuccesful in terms of fans buying shares - the majority of share being bought by ENIC and murray - enic i believe bought at a cost of 40m and sold just last week for 9m..... back to... yup - murray international holdings -

well thats just it - as i said earlier - its a house of cards... someone (and here the rumours are far to libelous to put on a message board and probably involve ludges and sacrificial goats) within the banks allowed these debts to accumulate... and as i said - you owing someone 1 grand is your problem - you owing someone 158m is their problem- the banks hands are tied on this one - they can't put too much pressure as the whole thing could go up - AND they can't put too much pressure on other clubs without them pointing over at the huns and saying "what about that shower of knuckle-dragging scum" or words to that effect - so this way smoke and mirrors are in place and the banks partially sated as they can be go off closing down the wee clubs left / right and centre

what happens when the share issue fails?

i have no idea - but i think attention will be turned to the closing of smaller clubs - i raised doubts pre-season abou the tv deal and said i wanted to see the league last till christmas - i stand by that.
