No, I think it looks much better than the first Sony thing. I've always said that looked crap.dolly's gal said:it is called the sony bean.

What don't you like about iPods?Phototropic said:I can't stand I-Pods but I would still choose one over that thing. Those buttons look well awkward.

iPods are far from perfect, but to say that sony is "nicer" looking makes me me think.![]()

Sony professional (ie broadcast) gear is superb, but I've not yet seen any consumer software of theirs that hasn't reduced me to a swearing shouting loon in front of a PC.Onket said:This is what one of the reviews I posted on page one says. Bit of a worry for me cos I was going to get this. It suggests waiting a couple of months for them to iron out the clitches. I am rubbish with technology so this is important for me.
Iam said:I don't really care what it looks like.
It's made by Sony and is therefore not worth buying.

Put it this way, I'd never buy a Sony consumer product becuase of it, how you fare may be different.
Dunno about that. Their consumer digicams are excellent, as are most of their laptops.beesonthewhatnow said:Sony professional (ie broadcast) gear is superb, but I've not yet seen any consumer software of theirs that hasn't reduced me to a swearing shouting loon in front of a PC.

Onket said:To be honest I prefer the looks of the Sony when the pictures are side by side. I've not seen the actual units side by side though to be fair.

Actually a colleague has one of those Sony bean things and I have to say that although way too annoying not to be able to simply drag and drop, the ATRAC format - superficially at least - seemed to give better sound quality for a given bitrate ...jayeola said:I like the mini-disc player. Simple, small and relatively cost effective. You just shove your music onto those mini CDs, innit? The one that I have uses that horrid ATRAC format. More proprietary bollocks.
