New Series - Mock The Week

I think myself and Russell have the same sense of humour, because Frankie Boyle destroys us both.

Last night you could see Russell just destroyed, and this happens week after week, when Frankie says something. Russell just cracks up, as do I.

Like Russell said in the first episode of this new series...

"You know, I missed you Frankie."

Because no one else says the things that Frankie Boyle says.

Russell clearly has a man crush on Frankie.
And I don't blame him at all. :)

Hugh Dennis is a team capt on every week, I don't remember seeing Punt on there, though I could be mistaken.

I thought Parson's quip that the Dictionary Corner of Countdown becoming Unionised would prove exciting because it is a 9 letter word.....was extremely quick and witty. To even realise it was a 9 letter word was quite impressive and he picked it up immeadiately, and then formed it into a joke, I was quite impressed.

Which is odd as I agree with most here, I don't find him particularly funny most weeks.

Hugh Dennis then. I have to say that he is an unfunny, dessicated husk of a comedian if ever there was one.

Yeah, he always has been and always will be awful (as is his 'comedy' partner Steve Punt), Andy Parsons is harmless but hopeless, Russell Howard is unfunny and annoying, Michael Mcintyre is execrable....

Frankie Boyle is usually very funny but can be quite lazy sometimes. Dara O'Briain is better when he's on other programmes.

I like Punt and Dennis.

They were never as 'cool' as Baddiel and Newman, and all that lot, but they were still funny.

not sure about the 'cool' thing - I suppose to me a comedian is cool if he is original and funny, and uncool if he is predictable or boring. I just find Dennis's humour lazily observed, tired, and thoroughly - yes - predictable.

She did look surprisingly thin. But before she stood up and I actually noticed she'd lost weight, I just thought she looked different. And really pretty.

I thought she was quite pretty anyway. Losing that much weight, I suppose maybe my view is coloured by the fact that I had seen her previously, but it seemed almost unwell.

I agree. Ive always loved the fact she was always sorted about body image issues.

However her current tour is called 'Skinny Bitch!' :D .

She's full time in L.A now after doing well on Last Comic Standing and Def Comedy Jam last year, maybe the pressure got to her?

E2a- thats triggered a memory of something I read.

Yeah last year Gina blogged about bulimic models in LA.

I went to some magazine launch party last night, and I went into the toilet after this skinny, tall blonde, and I could see by the scum floating on top of the water in the bowl, that that she'd just made herself vomit. LA life!

I too vomited last night -but trust me, not deliberately. I've been making myself fruit smoothies in the morning, and I did 1 this evening before I went out, but for some reason, the acid from the strawberries just didn't agree with me.

When I got home and lay down in bed, it all came up-I just reached the toilet in time! Now I hate vomiting......but I was almost tempted to weigh myself after! The LA virus is getting into my brain-AHHHHHHH!!!

Reading that again now Ive seen her, feels a bit weird!

Russell Howard is more unfunny on telly than he is on R6, where despite monopolising speaky-time he's always in the shadow of Jon Richardson. Apart from the last few weeks, when there's been no RH (why?)
