A few well-behaved holidaymakers would be fine but I can see no reason why a large section of our workforce should be pushed into poverty just because we can import cheaper labour from elsewhere.

If it wasn't buy-to-rent he would be complaining that migrants were getting all the best camping places, depriving the poor indigenous peoples of their right to tents! Right, so it a council flat that your mate is (almost certainly unofficially) subletting off the original council tenant. If this is legal then the original tenant shouldn't be profiteering from this arrangement.

Or is an ex-council flat, sold under the RTB scheme, in which case its not really a council flat at all. And in which case it's absolutely irrelevant which nationality moves in - they're not taking up social housing stock as it's already been transferred to the private sector.
