New Research on Social Housing and Migration

But this entire perspective of divison leads nowhere. To conflict theorists (you know, Marxists/anarchos etc) this SHOULD be NO surprise.

Really, the problem is NOT one of DIVISION, it is one of UNITY AND SOLIDARITY.

Our efforts, research/debates should be about generating and practicing such strategies and tactics....

Would you fancy sharing a cell with Mr Bowden?

Nope.
Not what i said..goebbels....

But a lot of Poles etc are in council housing in London paying over the top rents to private landlords....Thought you would know that with you still pretending to be a Socialist.

In London, fine and the figures?

Fast forward - what? - twenty years. You're on your deathbed.

I'm glad I spent all that time stalking that poster I didn't agree with on U75. The world is a better place now. I can rest in peace.
Yes, it's not quite so funny now, is it son? When it's not you amusing yourself and your friends by how vile you can be? When it's in the real world?

I think we both know who I was referring to, Pa.

Do you want me to make some up? As you seem to like bullshit statistics. Which goes to show a very conservative side to your personality,in my opinion...

Sorry but that really does show who's side your really on, doesnt it?

Do you have any figures on the amount of eastern europeans in buy to let council flats eeeerrrrrmmmmm....

Does that mean that it doesnt matter?

Does having figures and stats make a bad arguement good...I believe the nazis kept excellent records of deportations to gas chambers...Does that make them right.

Who do you think compiles figures and for what reason?

Everybody - for accuracy.

You posed the question:

And what about all the buy to let flats now rented out to eastern europeans?

I asked how many? What is your problem here?

Well im a grumpy git for starters....

But my problem is that you asked a question knowing that there wouldnt be any reliable stats. WHY?
Cos if it was to discredit the arguement. I think you fell into a trap.
The crap trap i like to call it.

last time i checked, buy to let wasn't actually social housing:confused:

They shouldn't be here at all, whether they get social housing or not. British taxpayers have paid for those homes over generations so that British people could occupy them.
have i missed something?, do immigrants not pay tax ?

tbaldwin said:
You find them then?

Haven't yet, maybe the figure is so miniscule and a red herring it's not worth reporting?

Although, I did notice that the hottest spot of the property market at the moment is buy-to-let properties in Eastern Europe.

Now there's a thing.

Many of them don't. But even those that do aren't part of our society and don't determine public policy unless they're citizens.

I assume by immigrants you mean non-citizens, of course.

It seems strange to draw such a firm line between the two when clearly a lot of immigrants go on to become citizens.

As for your comment that they aren't part of 'our' society - I'll thank you not to lump me in with you. I regard anyone I come into contact with as part of 'my' society and you can fuck the fuck off

So Eastern European organised criminals that are here purely to sell heroin and pimp trafficked women are part of your society?

Is it ok if the organised crime's done by British Nationals then? Would that be ok?

Oh, and it may have escaped your notice you sad old xenophobe, but in terms of the EU migrants who come here, they may not be British citizens, but we all have shared citizenship in the EU. You may not like that fact, but that is now the case, and if it makes you angry then it makes me even more pleased than it did before.

Of course not, but the issues are different. They are at least part of our society and entitled in principle to a share of our collective wealth.

I'm very well aware of that, and look forward to Britain's withdrawal from the EU, if not its entire collapse, well within my lifetime.

As we look forward to your withdrawal from political debate, if not your total collapse, within our lifetimes :)

I'm glad you didn't bother to challenge me on the xenophobe comment.
