I still prefer her Spice Girls dress...

Proper girl power.

Heh...I got such a thrill out of that yellow dress because when Rid Of Me came out and I was at the height of my angsty PJ-worshipping teens, I used to have that picture of her in big boots on my wall, where I could bow down before it and make the 'we are not worthy' obeisance.

Plus, she looked hot in it.

I say we all meet at Yeovil bus station, form an orderly queue and... er, just wait for her.

i didn't dislike it for being too commercial, i just thought she was punching below her weight and aping Patti Smith / some kind of New York thing a bit too much.

Sorry, mate, that wasn't a dig at you, hadn't read to end of thread when I quoted *slaps forehead*

I know peeps in the real world who consider it too commercial

It pisses all over everything else she's done from a great height.

End of.

erm, no. It's a good album - a great album by most people's standards - but it just doesn't seem entirely her, if that makes sense. Whereas the Rid of me and To Bring You My Love, for example, are utterly original and utterly individual

I love Rid Of Me, but (as I have complained on this very forum several times) the overall mix is depressingly low.

I think in the end it would have to be To Bring You My Love – utterly majestic. It's always taken me to a very beautiful place
