taking drugs doesnt necessarily weaken the mind, in fact i find it often brings out a latent creativity. Ask Lester Bangs or Lord Byron.

Yup. So creative infact, such an intellectual giant was he that Bangs accidently od'd. Pure genius. Let's face it - Hunter S Thompson was the real deal.

Pete D. **sighs**

haha that video where he ques for an oasis album was brilliant! he did have a lot of charisma and did write some good tunes and one brilliant tune (time for heroes) but The Blinding is really pretty shite if you actually listen to it. hes not exciting or enchanting anymore. he has gone so far downhill i havent heard a song of his ive liked in a long time

Both of whom were perfectly creative (and published) prior to their dalliances with drugs.

Don't think the size of your intellect does much to stop you OD'ing, mate. :)

This girl i know lives in his old flat above filthy mcnastys. Apparentley he isn't a complete tosser.
I know a guy who was unfortunate enough to have to be part of his sound crew for a couple of months.

Apparently he is :)

Oh cheesy love him if you must, but his "creativity" is nothing more than hard core drug addiction, thats what drives him full stop, my guess is he really doesnt like himself at all.......not very rock star really is it!!!

Sad really..

i dont read newspapers, its quite obvious he doesnt like himself, thats what drug addiction is about cheesy, he creates this pseudo tragic personna and gets us all to believe its all in the name of creativity, well anyone stupid enough to buy it that is....bollox!!! he has talent i bet, but the layers of ego, self loathing, desperation and pain are fast consumimg him, but whilst there is enuff adulation and worshiping from his fans.....why stop drugs????

fact is sooner or later he will die a orrible drug death, then you can all praise the talent that he was....

he seems like a nice lad. real shame babyshambles only turned out to ahve one good song. still, it's one good song more than carl barat's band have. roll on the libs reunion... for some reason it onl;y works when it's the pair of them.

Doubt that'll happen.

I mean, look at who he'd be compared to, the likes of, to name three of the top of my head;

Phil Lynott.
Jimi Hendrix,
Ian Curtis,

Pete Doherty is to them, as Cannon & Ball were to Morecambe and Wise. Shit on their shoes.

It would do his career the power of good if he were to die. Look at what death did for the careers of Elvis, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Buckley and Nick Drake. ;)

Big difference in talent level. Buckley was the least talented of the people you mentioned and Petey-boy doesn't even come close to Buckley's worst lyrics, in terms of poetic meaning.

True. Doherty's talent is debatable and he is a transient figure.
