New Lamborghini Reventon Roadster - I think i came

About 12 lamposts to the gallon, easy.

You'd properly be able to floor it once and just make it between petrol stations...

There is a young guy on another site I frequent whose father owns one of the 2 Reventon hardtops currently in the UK.

He is about to put it on sale as he is on the list for one of these roofless jobbies.

Also has a VERY nice stable of other vehicles too including the last Diablo off the production line, the only CLK DTM Black series in the UK, Murcielago LP640, Monster truck etc etc

Seems a very nice lad who is happy to answers various questions about ownership too.

Lucky barsteward. :D

A sheep in wolves' clothing.

:hmm:

Would that be a Veyron with a mini's engine or something?

shit for aerodynamics though

Considering that it does 211 mph, and 0-60 in 3.4 seconds, and is made by a car company that knows a wee bit about aerodynamics, could you provide some sort of evidence that it's shit? The little I know about aerodynamics is that it's not exactly a simple subject, and shapes that look sleek to the eye can introduce vortex and all manner of other drag factors at speed.

Kabbes, slagging this car off because it's not understated is about as reasonable as slagging off Audrey Hepburn because she was crap at bench press. Horses/courses. Then again, I have to question whether the race trim Lancia Delta Integrale or the Bentley Turbo (with red leather trim) are really good counter examples of understated elegance?

Call me old fashioned, but if I had that sort of dosh and wanted a Lambo, it would be a 1970 Miura SV.

Gorgeous. Decisions you regret later in life; I once had an offer of a ride in a Muira and turned it down (I think I was nervous or something, I was 13 at the time).

Apologies for quoting myself but anyone interested in a selection of lovely cars might want to check this out (for the impatient, pics on page 4 but the thread is worth a read anyway):

It's the name of a fighting bull (like all Lambos)

<wiki>

The Reventón is named after a fighting bull in keeping with Lamborghini tradition. The bull, raised by the don Heriberto Rodríguez family, was best known for killing famed bullfighter Félix Guzmán in 1943.[9][10] Reventón means "explosion" or "burst" in Spanish, when used as a noun.[11][12] In the vernacular, it is also used to define a very large party or a night on the town. It's commonly said "vámonos de reventón", which means "let's go party tonight." In automotive terms, it means "blowout, flat tire" when used as a noun.[13] When it was used as the name of a bull, however, it was intended to be interpreted as an adjective, a quality or property of that bull in particular. In this last sense, Reventón means "he who seems to be about to burst"

It's rather unfortunate, however, that 'reventon' is Spanish for 'tyre blowout'... :D

Yeah?

You just calling it as you see it, or has there been talk of this?

I fear that Crispicus is guessing. For example, a quick google search suggests the Reventon has a drag coefficient of 0.27, which compares rather well to the Veyron's 0.36 or Enzo's 0.36

I know that coefficient is not the be all and end all of aerodynamics, but at the very least it suggests the shape is not an inherently bad one.

I hear that the Hep could press 180, actually.
