A failed policy because it has become the Average wage rather than a minium. The import of cheap labour has undermined the idea of the min wage being an absolute minimum.

SureStart has been a success but the extra money to health has just been eaten up in junkets for senior management, servicing PFI contracts etc. Very little of it seems to have trickled down to patients. (Oi Brown wheres my fucking affordable Dentist you scumbag).
NL shot British workers in the back with the min wage by undermining it by allowing bosses to import shitloads of cheap labour. Its now not a bare minimum but an average wage.
NL have also continued the grabbing of ordinary pensioners savings by forcing them to sell their homes to pay for the care that they had previously paid out for WITH THEIR TAXES.
How can the Tories possibly be worse than this lot? Surely they've improved and reformed from the excesses of the past?

Yes, we've covered that. It's a way of standardising labour costs, the industry standard in many sectors, fast becoming the mode wage, and not something to be proud of. And the Tories support it.

You look at the far left in this country it has always been dominated and led by middle class people and middle class thinking.
People are encouraged to choose sides between shit rival ideologies rather than think for themselves....But still plenty do....plenty want to see less inequality but will never accept the lies of the liberal left on crime and immigration......

Private companies always made a fortune out of the NHS.
There were always a load of parasites creaming off money from health and education. The thing is that if you doubled spending on health and education the opportunities for these parasites will increase..

I agree with you but what can you do? All you can really do is vote the govt out and sadly the only effective way of getting them out is to vote tory and hope that Labour clean out the augean stables whilst in opposition. Then and only then can they come back and say 'we've changed trust us'.
I don't know about 'always'. There was plenty of w/c self-education, self-understanding etc previously, although there is more truth in what you say in terms of the present time. Still, things are not all bad - as long as the w/c can still think then there is hope yet.
Have to disagree... The last Tory govt and Tory councils wasted billions on utter rubbish....Things like Training Enterprise councils etc etc were every bit as bad as shite like Primary Care trusts.....

You do have a point there. TEC's could have been a good thing but they were managed in a totally shit way.
The problem is its not just the Tory press who point out the failings of NL its those who have to live under their boot. Living in Newham which is a one party NL state taught me that I never want to live in such a borough again. Corrupt, electorally dodgy, inefficient and much more. Many of those who moan about NL are moaning because of the piss poor way that they have been treated by NL not because they have been prompted by the Sun or the Mail etc.
True im not really blaming it all on the media...Lots of Labour councils are worse than shit......But i bet if you looked into how some of the councils in the shires spent public money you would get a nasty shock...One party boroughs end up a bit like one party countrys full of shit and corruption....
Yup. Its just my personal experience of crap and corrupt local govt was under NL. There are badly run Tory local councils and badly one Labour Lib Dem ones.
Fuck me I wish there was an alternative to having to vote Tory but there isn't .

Yup you vote for the party that is the least worst. At the moment (and that could change) the Tories look like the least worst to me especially on the issue of personal freedoms (and remember its the British personal freedoms that attracted so many talented immigrants to the UK enriching us for decades) which New Labour have been so keen on trashing.
