New HMHB album out soon

Yeh, the Word generally love them. But this is the first full page Biscuits review I've seen since the 80s. So they've used the space to really gush :)

Do you think it's an album worthy of gush? Cos I don't. And I'm gutted to say that. Sure it's got some nuggets of genius, but overall it's nowhere near as good as previous albums

New album out tomorrow.

Anyone heard it yet?
Yes, I have it. Some great lines, as usual. The usual dark humour and observation. A funny rant about Tommy Walsh's eco house. A great lyric in the song Coroner's Footnote. And some great music, too. Actually much more polished musically, than usual. But not in a bad way. Nothing here is as laugh out loud funny as "I phone the dial-a-pizza and say that's not how I would spell Hawaiian", but there's some good vitriol about clueless indie bands.

Descending the Stiperstones reminds me how Nigel could read the telephone book and i'd have a listen.

The new album's been out for a few weeks. Oh right, I see it got a mention in the CD thread.

Haven't heard it yet copliker, are they on form? (I thought 90 Bisodol was their best since ...Bridgwater so it's got a lot to live up to)

I got it when it was released. It hasn't knocked me out in the way 4 Lads and Bridgwater did, and doesn't seem to have many killer hooks, but there are inevitably some good lines;

Why does Mr Universe always come from Earth?

I had another listen today, and it doesn't have many sing-a-long anthems, like Tommy Walsh's Eco-House, or Joy Division Oven Gloves. It's still worth having though.
