New Bridge on East London line 'collapses'

cor, thanks, I've never seen that site before. this map of the area is the first time I've ever understood what goes on round there.
I only discovered it recently. It's fantastic :) Alwaystouchout hadn't been updated in months and I was getting bad withdrawl. This guy is fantastic. Up at the crack of dawn to take photos? Repsect :)

Very. Just a little bit of junction fiddling at new cross gate.

Back to the old days for that line, eh?

Wonder if they'll reinstate the spur south of Surrey Quays over to Old Kent Road and on to the line south. Would be handy having a station there, and they seem to have kept space between the new business parks and on towards the arches under the thousand arches. I guess there are buildings in the way, though.

That's precisely the route for Phase 2 of the extension. Next stop along that way will be Surrey Canal Road (for millwall), right here: http://maps.google.com/maps?client=...4403,-0.048741&spn=0.003902,0.009463&t=h&z=17

Finally, a decent way to get SE/SW...

Have they knocked down Shoreditch yet? Would love some of that wooden flooring.

No funding confirmed for Phase 2 yet, but it seems inevitable.

EDIT: Aaaargh, I'm wasting my day looking at railways again

Very. Just a little bit of junction fiddling at new cross gate. Other than that, just station work to Overground spec.

have you been through New Cross Gate lately?

BIG bit of junction fiddling going on. new bridges and all sorts going in. it's quite a big engineering job going on there.

Walked over the bridge the other day and didn't really notice. Thought they would just use the existing arch where the railway used to go.

yeah to the north of the station they've slowly been reclaiming land for the line and then constructing a big bridge going over the line next to it and then winching it over.

it *looks* like there will be new platforms and stuff on the sainsburys side, might be wrong on that though.

Crispy - that link doesn't work for me :(

yep that's it Crispy, it's been quite cool watching the progress of that bridge.

not quite sure what all that stuff is in the middle, new sidings/sheds being built by the looks of it. there is certainly loads of ground works going on.

that guys site is  btw. he's even been out to see the new station in Mitcham. Dedication! :D

Oh yeah, the remains of the old goods yard. Reinstate the extension to Bricklayer's Arms, please!
