never mind the buzzcocks : now

My god! Are people just commenting on the people on this show (who are usually v dull) or are they saying its is good/funny/watchable?

If you enjoy watching celeb nonentities with all the wit, charm and sophistication of a slowworm pickled in methanol being torn to shreds and not even noticing it, then I think you would have enjoyed last nights episode. As much as I hate the schedenfraude of the "celeb" world, DT has made himself famous by being incessantly loud and annoying - last night was the televisual equivalent of an evangelical Christian having god come down on a chariot of angels and telling him to shut the fuck up.

Never Mind The Buzzcocks is one of the manifold joys of UKTV Gold - the late nineties episodes are hysterical, and although I didn't quite get Bill Bailey at first he's easily replaced Shaun Hughes.

I prefer Lamarr to Amstell, but that's because Amstell reminds me of someone I would dearly like to set on fire. Doesn't stop me cracking up at some of his lines though.

:o I quite liked it when Lamarr got malicious though :o

The last time I watched it was when my ex girlfriend sent me a text to say she was on it.

And next week is Amstell driving that twunt Preston off the show by slagging off Chantelle :D

What was all that stuff about with the v/o at the end of the show? I'm aware of Chantelle (CBB tard, right?) but what is a Preston and why is it's buzzcocks spat already legendary?

Preston apparently walks off after hearing a few too many jokes about his super-intelligent girlfriend.

Nobody cares - they even replace him with a Preston lookalike from the audience.

It would have been funny if Preston had chinned someone.

That would be worth tuning in for.

Some smug cocks taking the piss out of an ordinary girl from Essex isn't imho.

She's not ordinary. She's stupid, Essex notwithstanding.

And if she wants to profit from an excruciatingly bad ghost-written bit of trash, which I'm assuming her book was, then she should stand by 'her' words. It's a bit rich old Preston, mock-mod wannabee that he is, storming off because someone had the temerity to read out a section from his girlfriend's own book.

Preston is a hypocrite.

Preston said:
"I think it's quite cool to be married to a bimbo," he told the Daily Star. "It’s like f*** you, all you bullies at school, I married a bimbo!"

Err yeah......Simon was taking the piss but he did this by reading a extract of her autobiography. I think what Preston said is far more insulting....

Ooh! trust me to get here just as the thread is dying down. Here's my tuppence worth:
They were at this club night I was at all dressed in skinny jeans and faux-edgy vests and went to the party afterwards. One of the blonde one starts playing us one of his tunes until someone says.. hang on... Isn't that Guns n' Roses? haha!!

Simon Amstell: I heart millions and millions, I actually used to get up at 9.30 am on Sundays when that pop show he did was on. Its shit now.

NMTB: went severely downhill after Lamarr slagged off Pete burns in a really scary way and the lovely lovely Sean hughes walked off after which it became a televisual embarrassment. Simon Amstell has brought it back to its former glory.

Last Night's Show: I've haven't laughed so much in half an hour before in my life!! :D ;) :p and all that gubbins

Hughes leaving was the best thing that happened to NMTB - he seemed to bring out Lamarr's most laddy excesses (which is odd because Hughes is really sweet in real life).

I won't disagree but I will profess my love for Sean Hughes :D

Oh.. that sounds a bit weird after LDRs post..

2nd edit to say, Simon Amstell doesn't dress like a student, he dresses really well. Really really well.
