you're so wadical!

what's wadical about thinking he's far more charm than that cunt Lamar, or was it the thing about marrying him? I suppouse that might have been wadical in 1976 but these days of PC gone mad i'd say it's almost right wing.:p

it's funny how noel fielding is vince noir in real life. i've met him and it's like he wasn't acting in the boosh, just playing noel. legend!

i like him too. his smile and nonchalence(sp) make him totally charming in my book. :)

I find him super smarmy myself ... :p :)

so he's insincerely flattering / ingratiating? and yet others accuse him of being aggressive, insulting and malicious. How can he be both?

in my mind, why Amstell's better than Lamarr on Buzzcocks is because of his 'people skill's' (soz, can't think of another way of putting it).

he manages to be charming and funny, even when he's being a cunt. :D Lamarr used to growl too much and imo was much more 'blokey' than Amstell.

i do like Lamarr though, and respect his musical knowledge, i just think Amstell is more likeable and better at hosting Buzzcocks. :)

edit: Dub, if some people like Anstell and don't like Lammarr, cope with it and stop getting all moody! :D :p

i pissed myself at last night's show. Simon Anstell with his tape player set to 'punk' and that towers of london dick generally getting exactly what a twat like him deserves, it was gorgeous seeing him squirm...

oh, and another vote for Anstell over Lamarr here. They both tread the fine line of being v.offensive for laughs, but I think Lamarr thinks he's funnier than he actually is and oversteps the line often.

i loved the bit when amstell was talking about reality stars who sold fuck all records afterwards, reeled off a few names, then paused, can't think of any others, while the camera was on donny, looking gormless and not seemingly getting the joke

Dunno - I don't particularly find him aggressive or malicious myself - he's often quite funny... but I do find him smarmy - it's just a feeling about him, he makes my skin crawl a bit. It's just my own individual perception of him - I'm not saying we should all see him the same way!! Other people are allowed to like him just 'cos I'm not his number one fan!

But Simon Anstell is so cute...

Because he has more than one facet to his personality.

Come Dub, you're sometimes brighter than this.

See, I was insincerely flattering while insulting you at the same time. ;)

Sorry, I didn't understand you. You say you want 'fush and chups'?

:p

That was hilarious :D Bill Bailey and Noel Fielding on the same team = comedy heaven (although obviously BB doesn't have as much to offer in the eye candy stakes).

Definitely prefer Amstell to Lamarr as the host of this show - I used to love Lamarr's hosting, but he just seemed so sick of it by the last few series. It's good to have a fresh style.

Donny Tourette: ...and you look like one of these [makes wanker sign]
Bill Bailey: What, a hand?

Class :D

My sister quite weirdly fancies bill bailey. Just thought I'd out her on a public forum:)

personally i'm more of a noel fielding person. Found it quite weird watching last night, as I developed a small crush on simon amstell as well...

and as for smarmy, think Lamarr was, I think it was his smugness that made him seem it.

I wanted to cuddle the team with the Bailey and the Boosh man and that indie man in the tea cosy - they were so funny the lot of them :) I am such a sucker for comedians :o

I believe Amstell's next line was "that'll come as a nice surprise" :D with the aforementioned Donny not really looking like he had a flying fuck what was going on.

I've always tended towards the Lamarr camp personally - I've seen Lamarr at his cynical best when I saw it being filmed at the BBC, and he had me laughing my arse off for hours. Last night Amstell just came into his own version of what I liked about Lamarr's vindictive humour, just enacted in what I imagine most people will consider a more socially acceptable style. Top bollocks entertainment, and all the better for showing DT to be a pompous idiot out of his depth. He's almost like a male Jade Goody.

Pikachu probably recorded it on his swanky uber geeky TV computer thing

Better catch it before I move out on Saturday!

edit: haha, great timing :D So did you?

My god! Are people just commenting on the people on this show (who are usually v dull) or are they saying its is good/funny/watchable?

Never Mind the Buzzcocks is on the same humour level as They Think its All Over (?) or wotever it was called. ie smug smartarses who aren't funny (apart from to sniggering students)

The only thing i can remember about it is how Mark Lemarr's hairstyle looked rubbish (i liked the quiff)
